Outside of Faith there is no Hope

May 27, 2011

“The definition of Faith is “being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you cannot see”. We have made the word faith cheap in our culture by replacing it where we should use the word “hope”. Hope is uncertain but it is when we wait and desire for something. Yet remember hope is not certain. Faith is being 100% certain yet not having historic or scientific evidence or proof . People say this or that “is my faith”, yet also they say “but i wouldn’t bet my life on it”. Therefore, that is their hope and not their faith.  Yet not understanding Faith they misuse the word thinking it to be the same meaning as hope. Faith is something you bet everything upon, including your life. Jesus asked this question, “when the Son of man returns, will he find faith on the earth?” Know your heart, search your heart, with yourself have a serious heart to heart. Understand what you have faith in and what you have hope in.  Know the difference and then ask for more faith. Outside of Faith there is no Hope.” – Ethan Holub
