Declare War

August 4, 2011

“In a war zone you are awake and aware. There is a sense of urgency and seriousness. You have a plan and are ready for anything. You have thought through situations and decided early what you will do. You have items easily available and ready for action, for fleeing or fighting immediately if need be. Your ears are open and listening, your sleep is light and your mind is made. There is no indecisiveness. Action which comes by way of the flesh must be controlled. The flesh must be controlled by the mind and the mind must be controlled by the Soul, which must be surrendered to God.  There is something about war that sharpens the senses, this is why declaring war on your flesh is both so important and so hard.” – Ethan Holub
