Do not be tricked

November 26, 2011

“Do not mistake any mans condemnation of you as conviction. Many a man will condemn you and when you react he will try and tell you that you must be convicted, because you reacted. He will try to proclaim guilt on you and then offer his love and mercy as a way out for something you have not done wrong. It is for power and control men do this. This is a great trait of grand manipulators and cult leaders. Jesus is the only one who can do this.

At the same time if the Holy Spirit within you convicts you, beware of thinking or proclaiming condemnation. Many times you will be convicted and not want to change. Instead of changing or repenting you proclaim that someone is trying to persecute you and condemn you, yet you are really lost in your sin. This is part of our sinful flesh and nature to deny what we know is right, good and true even when God is lovingly trying to show us where we are lost.

Condemnation is when you are proclaimed guilty and you run or are told to run from God’s loving arms until you get right. This is when you are cast away from God because of your sin.

Conviction is when you are proclaimed guilty and you know you can run into God’s loving arms just as you are and knowing that because of Jesus Christ their is no longer condemnation for anyone who is in Christ. This is when you are cast into God’s loving arms in repentance because you know that no sin is bigger than Jesus Christ and what He did for us by dying for our sins.” – Ethan Holub

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” – Paul the Apostle (Romans 8:1)

“Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people.” Paul the Apostle (Romans 5:8)
