Do Justice and Love Mercy and Walk Humbly

November 30, 2013

Mercy is when you do not get the Just punishment that you deserve and sometimes need. The absence of Mercy is Justice. Sometimes God calls us to show Mercy and always are we called to Justice. We know when to show Mercy by being humble and in close relationship with God.

Being made in God’s image does not mean we are gods, but it does mean we, humans, have been given authority to bless or curse. Authority is for the purpose of doing Justice, Justice is to speak on behalf of those whom have no voice in their unjust situations, where they have been wronged. God has a plan and solution for every city, problem and Justice issue. Those who have been given authority must take action, with the power of God’s wisdom, courage and love that is in them, through Prayer. Prayer is not a laundry list, it is a relationship.

It is easier to give than it is to manage money, time, resources, etc… Authority is not writing a check, but getting involved, managing. God is pleased when you give but looking for those who can manage so that they are constantly giving. Throwing money towards stuff, ministries, ideas does not make something excellent. Getting neck deep or even waist deep in it, Managing the details, wisdom, resources, favor, passion and authority given to you, is what makes it excellent. We must give of our life, not just write checks. We must have passion for what God is passionate about.

A passion and vision must be partnered with a time commitment, discipline, action, prayer and follow through if you wish to give that passion and vision any value.

We are sons and daughters of the real, powerful, living God and we have authority to Do Justice and show Mercy.We also are able to walk with God, because Jesus made us right with Him, so let us walk humbly with Him and be His hands, mouth and feet so that the world can see His love and His passion, The Kingdom of God. – Ethan Holub

Psalm 82

God has taken his place in the divine council;
    in the midst of the gods he holds judgment:
“How long will you judge unjustly
    and show partiality to the wicked? Selah
Give justice to the weak and the fatherless;
    maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.
Rescue the weak and the needy;
    deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”

They have neither knowledge nor understanding,
    they walk about in darkness;
    all the foundations of the earth are shaken.

I said, “You are gods,
    sons of the Most High, all of you;
nevertheless, like men you shall die,
    and fall like any prince.”

Arise, O God, judge the earth;
    for you shall inherit all the nations!
